Cathy, Domestic Sales - Olathe, KS
Growing up in Kansas City, Kansas, I didn’t have the typical childhood that most girls my age did. My dad was the owner and operator of five full-service Mobil Oil stations. I hung out with him in his garages doing brake jobs and tune-ups. I told him that when I grew up I wanted to be a technician. Dad was not particularly fond of that answer, and instead told me I should be a secretary, get married, and have a family.
Well, I didn’t become a secretary and instead got a referral to start a sales job for material handling equipment. Little did I know that one referral would turn into a rewarding career. My career at TVH has spanned over 30 years, and with each year I’ve learned new things and faced new challenges. I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people at TVH and have enjoyed selling our products to a great customer base in Domestic sales.
Family is a very important thing to me. I have two wonderful children, Jennifer and Sam. They have blessed me with seven grandsons. One of the most important parts of my family is my momma. She lives in Olathe at Good Samaritan and I have built great relationships with the staff there. It has also helped me gain a greater appreciation for the battle our elderly go through. I admire her strength, courage, and kindness she radiates and continues to show each day. When I am not with my family, I really enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy hiking and swimming with my husband, David, although I think I like it more than he does.
