When I was younger, I always wanted to have a family. It was part of who I was growing up, attending family reunions, playing with the younger cousins, and always having a toddler holding my hand. When my wife became pregnant with my son, I was ecstatic and scared to death to be in the room while she was giving birth. I had missed being in the room for my daughter, but swore I would not miss it this time. We were very blessed and the pregnancy had no complications (for me at least) other than my son did not want to leave the womb. However, time was ticking and the doctor had a vacation to go on, so we scheduled the appointment to bring my son into this crazy world. I stood next to my beautiful wife, as she screamed and cried forcing my son to do something he did not want to do. As the nurse handed my new born baby to my exhausted wife, I could not stop thinking of how beautiful this baby was, how he did not look splotchy and puffy like other newborns. He was truly beautiful with soft blue eyes, smooth tender skin, and little fingers that were perfect (yep, all ten toes and all ten fingers). It was truly one of the most miraculous things I have ever witnessed.
