Martin, International - Olathe, KS
Since childhood, soccer has been a significant part of my personal life. When I moved to the US from Honduras, being involved in sports encouraged me to engage in the community and make many friends. While I was living in California in the 1990s, I played competitive soccer. I joined the CCV Hydra team in the USISL (United States Interregional Soccer League), which provided me the opportunity to organize soccer camps for field players and goalkeepers in Stockton, California.
The knowledge I have learned while putting together camps inspired me to coach recreational and competitive teams from 1989-2015, in California and Kansas. Throughout the years, I have also been blessed to instruct my three children from the time they were young, well into high school.
Coaching youth soccer is a passion of mine. Not long ago, I decided to focus my training on the goalkeeper position with young players between 8 and 17 years old. I am fortunate, at this point in my life, to introduce these youthful goalkeepers how to play this exciting and important soccer position.
I also try bringing my love for soccer to TVH. I organize the company soccer team, along with the softball and volleyball teams, encouraging my fellow co-workers to represent TVH in the local sports leagues.
