Taking Chances

Paulo Villaca, International - Olathe

Most people think I am originally from Brazil, however I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.  I did grow up there but when I got old enough to attend college, I decided to join my brother back in the U.S. He was attending The University of Kansas at the time. After joining him there, and beginning my work towards a Sports and Business Administration degree, I began to want to get involved in different clubs and social activities. So, of course, I looked to one of my passions, which is sports! I joined several different intramural teams and clubs, including volleyball, soccer referee, and tennis. It was lucky that I did, because that is how I scored a first date with my wife. She was heading to play racquetball with her friends and after seeing me playing tennis at courts nearby, she decided to meet with me for our first date.

Taking chances has not always been easy for me, but taking those first steps back in 1991, to come to the U.S after living in Brazil most of my youth, was just the beginning to 24 years of experience. I attended KU, got involved with soccer refereeing and also got certified to become a Kansas State Referee for levels of high school and college.

My work at TVH also allows me to not only take chances, but accept challenges and work to make things better. I get to travel, use my language skills and promote the TVH message, industrial parts and products. Taking those chances gave me a great home, a beautiful family and a job I love to perform.
